This is an advertising example from a different time.
This plate was reproduced in the 1960s from a late 1800s advertising campaign.
The graphics are crisp and beautiful.
The plate is embossed around sides and features a charming transfer ware picture of hard working homemaker shining up things in the kitchen with Brooke's soap products.
I absolutely love the name of this product "Brookes Soap Monkey Brand". Perfect name for a kid's soap.
Perfect bathroom vanity tray or a great plate to hang in the bathroom.
This is also a great addition to a Vintage Advertising Collector's Brooke Soap Monkey Brand pieces.
This is a Lord Nelson Pottery plate that advertises " Brooke's Soap Monkey Brand" on the front.
The back mark reads, " Lord Nelson Pottery Hand Crafted in England Since 1758".
The plate measures 8 1/2" x 8 1/2".
This is a vintage pre-owned item in good order without chips or cracks.
Some age crazing to glaze. (See Pictures)
ABOUT MONKEY BRAND SOAP:
Monkey Brand soap was introduced in around 1899 as a scouring soap. A firm owned by Sidney and Henry Gross, had produced and sold the soap in Philadelphia, USA. Lever Brothers bought the company in 1899 and transferred the production of Monkey Brand soap to Port Sunlight. The name _ÑÉBenjamin Brooke_Ñé was used to promote the Monkey Brand soap both in the States and in Britain.
My goal is to help discarded cool stuff to find new homes with a new generation. So please be mindful that the pieces in my store have had a previous life and are not perfect. I do my best to point out every little nick and blemish they have endured over the decades. Please take the time to review the pictures. If you have any questions, use Etsy conversation.
If for some reason you are unhappy with your purchase, please contact me. I will be happy to refund you and make it right. I want you to love whatever you purchase from me as much as I love it.
